to the St. Charles Comets
During the Christmas week holiday, Keith Stout's 10U purple placed 1st in the Wisconsin Dells Xplosion Tournament.
The team went 2-0 in pool play, beating the East Madison Purple Crush (12-1) & Stateline Fury (12-3), enroute to obtaining the #1 seed.
In the bracket pool, they prevailed (3-2) over a very tough 10U St.Charles Comets-JR team in the 1st game.
Lastly, in the Championship Game they beat the host team Wisconsin Xplosion (16-0).
The team benefitted from fostering strong relationships both on and off the field.
The 10U Comets led by Jason Roach earned a USSSA World Series bid in their first tourney of the 2011-2012 season last weekend in the Roselle Rampage Tourney at Olympic Park in Schaumburg.
With a 1-1-1 start in pool play the Comets game out strong in the brackets, with a 16-1 win over the Aurora Raiders.
But that wouldn't be the case in the semi-finals against a strong Plainfield Xplosion team. With time expired and a tied score, the Comets came out victourious in the International Tie Breaker.
Feeling the groove, the girls again came out strong against the Naperville Diamond Flames leading 5-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning, but couldn't hold on as the Flames chipped away. With a 5-6 lose, the girls vowed to get this one back.
With the second place finsh, the girls punched their ticket to Orlando - Congratulations Ladies!
After going 2-1 in pool play the girls overcame the heat on Sunday beating the Patriots 3-0, Wheaton Briarcliff 4-3, and then beating the Wheatland Spikes 10-7 in the Championship game to take first in Warrenvilles "Thrill in the Ville" tournament.
