The St. Charles Comets and Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation jointly announced today that the Comets have become an operational division of Cal’s Angels. The Comets fast pitch softball teams will complement Cal’s Angels continued growth in supporting youth softball and baseball. It brings 10 teams and over 100 families to join the fight against childhood cancer.
The Comets have long focused on developing young girls to play softball and has offered scholarships for those with the desire to play, but who do not have the means. Comet’s trainer and two time world champion Venus Taylor says, “It is an honor to partner with the Cal’s Angels Organization. It is our mission to provide our student athletes and families with a championship experience both on and off the field. This opportunity allows all of us to come together for a greater cause with a deeper meaning of personal growth and development. I look forward to being a part of this journey as we work together to make a difference.”
The St. Charles Comets were founded 21 years ago and have become an integral part of the sports communities in St. Charles and the surrounding area. They have excellent partnerships with the St. Charles Park District and the Kane County Dugout to provide “best in class” training and playing facilities.
Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation, aka Cal’s Angels, was founded in April of 2007 in memory of Cal Sutter, a South Elgin Little League All-Star who lost his battle with leukemia at the age of 13 in 2006. Cal’s Angels grants the wishes of kids fighting cancer, financially assists their families, provides scholarships to South Elgin and St. Charles baseball players, financially supports local youth softball and baseball teams and is a Community Partner of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
The combined organizations will continue to expand girls Fastpitch softball in the Fox Valley/Northern Illinois area and organize numerous events to spread awareness of the fight against childhood cancer. For more information contact Ashley Nakayama at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Comets welcome coach and long time instructor Mark Perryman as the new president of the club! We are very excited for the new training and recruiting expertise he brings with him. This is a great opportunity for all of the girls.
Former pro and college all star Venus Taylor has accepted a training position with the Comets. She is a 2 time world champion as a pro and a champion as a college coach!
Please join us in welcoming Venus to the COMETS!
New for 2012-2013 the Comets have organization wide training from professional instructors for all of November and December!
This helps all our teams learn the skills that will make them their best, from pros who know how it is done.

We understand that every child develops at a different pace and many of those high school starters were once "B" team players. We have the same commitment to training for all levels of our program. We give every player the opportunity to reach their best!
